Oh Shit!!!
Today, the sky is hovering dangerously close between falling & not falling... But I refuse to make any definitive calls either way, because it's Christmas Eve- & as far as I can tell the holidays make people completely & totally insane. Now, I don't consider myself insane (but then again I doubt that people who actually are insane consider themselves to be so)... But I'm reasonably sure that I'm not- however I do think it's at least reasonable to assume that I am some how affected by the mystical power this holiday shit seems to posess over a substantial chunk of the population. Actually, now is probably one the best times to determine whether someone is crazy or not... This is a stressful, annoying, family oriented, happy, guilt-ridden, tradition-filled time of year.... full of expectations. And EVERYBODY'S expectations are different- & the super super super annoying thing is when some people flip out when your holiday expectations are not in line with theirs. Seriously.... so, basically anyone who is on the "verge" of going crazy will say & do a lot more things, which will definitely lead to the "oh yeah... it's official.... they are crazy." Examples: people who never talk a lot, all of the sudden start talking about everything- from religious scripture, to omg how fabulous their tree is, to overkills on photos of the family and their gifts, to inspirational quotes (one of my personal faves) that are meant to guide us on the right path, or some bullshit like that. People progressing on the "crazy" continuum, will start pulling out all the stops, & do a lot of things they wouldn't normally do. This is precisely the reason that I kind of like to lay low during this time of year, because honestly I just can't deal with that bullshit sometimes... it annoys me to no end. Gee, I guess that wasn't very nice of me to say- but @ the end of the day, it's all about me. So, Merry Christmas- see you on the "other side" (aka December 26th). Peace Out!!!
